StayPrime extends BSF neonates’ shelf life from hours to weeks, while simultaneously enhancing production performances. 

Addressing the challenges of natural variations in egg output and low neonate viability during transportation, StayPrime offers a solution by arresting BSF neonates for weeks under room conditions. This creates a neonate buffer capacity to streamline insect farming operations and improves neonate shipment, allowing for the operation of a minimum number of mating cages in daily production and decreasing reproduction costs for full-life cycle insect producers and specialized breeders. Our preliminary results indicate that neonates suspended with StayPrime experience accelerated growth during nursing and fattening, promoting enhanced production capacity per unit time when integrated into daily production processes.

StayPrime for juveniles

Deliver high quality juveniles

StayPrime arrests the development of BSF juveniles for weeks, simultaneously enhancing their productivity during fattening.

Juveniles, with their brief 3-day shelf life, require swift and climate-controlled transportation between specialized breeders and fattening sites, leading to increased transportation costs and limited distribution. StayPrime tackles this challenge by extending the shelf life of juveniles to weeks and enabling practical and efficient storage and transportation under normal conditions. Furthermore, our preliminary results have shown enhanced growth of StayPrime suspended juveniles during fattening, suggesting improvement in production. This could increase customer satisfaction and ensure high benefits among insect farmers and specialized breeders.

StayPrime for fully-grown BSFL

Deliver high quality live BSFL

Transportation and storage of fully grown BSFL is currently limited to just a few days, necessitating swift and climate-controlled transportation between insect farms and animal farms where they serve as live feed. Furthermore, during transit, BSFL can result in weight and nutrient profile losses and high mortality. This requirement significantly increases costs and operational inefficiencies, thus restricting market utilization. Despite the acknowledged health benefits of live insect larvae in animal feed, their premium status and transportation challenges pose obstacles to seamless integration into larger-scale agricultural and feed production systems. StayPrime addresses this issue by facilitating the proper transportation and storage of live BSFL for up to a week. By enabling their integration into traditional animal farms as high-quality premium live feed, StayPrime supports the insect farms to command premium prices, contributing to a significant advancement in the insect farming industry.
